Hope there's ~5 inch variant of the Zenfone 3 coming. Let's face it, 5.5" is too big for most people. A 5" variant with the same specs for $199 will be a killer deal.

think 5.5 is perfect. many arnt using their phones 1 handed. and i remember when i had my streak people thought it was WAY too big. then when i got my note original it was oh my god its like a drive in movie theater.

Gotta disagree with you on that, dude. MicroSD is important if you use your smartphone for offline media consumption, like putting lots of movies on your phone.
If all you do with your phone is apps and streaming, you're right. And having phones with 128GB of storage as an option also helps. But believe me, there is definitely a very valid and modern use case for MicroSD storage.
If so it makes the guy who slammed ASUS for not having it look rather stupid and a clear hater, rather than someone who actually cares about the specs.
1080p and Snapdragon 820/ Adreno 530 means it will be an absolutely smashing gaming set up with butter smooth 60 fps in all games almost.
Thankfully, some OEMs have the sense to not use QHD panels in devices less than 7 inches. The hit to the battery and the performance overhead for the extra pixels are not worth it.
Will surely be considering this.
Still a little disappointed at not seeing the ZF3 powered by an Intel soc as before. Good to have different socs available with different benfits and drawbacks.
Guys, remember when you reviewed the 20nm exynos octa and measured performance and power consumption? What about doing something like that for the S625? Pretty please??
most people are upgrading within 2 years and even that is long in the tooth for the majority of phone buyers. and at the price without contract they can do it
everyone who even is considering buying an Asus Zenfone should bear in mind, they have not yet updated their full line-up to Android M, Zenfone 2 Z551ML is still pending it's update - and in the meanwhile even Android N is release!!!
For their other phones it took them 10months to update.
So in case you want to look for a vendor who updates their Android versions, I suggest you pass on Asus.
