Did you mean this to be a timeline post? And wasn't the APQ8064 not a Snapdragon 600 part since it uses Krait 200 cores?
  • dishayu - Thursday, June 20, 2013 - link

Yup, I noticed the same thing. It should read S4 Pro

No Tegra 4 LG?? Come on???
Well, then I hope that HTC launch a smartphone with Tegra 4 or will I have to depend on the Chinese Huawei (if is that it will manufacture ZTE because I do not trust).

Why would you want a Tegra 4 when you can have a Snapdragon 800?
  • Alketi - Thursday, June 20, 2013 - link

Snapdragon 800 is the fastest ARM processor available for Android. Why would you want a Tegra 4?
  • Speedfriend - Thursday, June 20, 2013 - link

Some of the benchmarks I saw yesterday showed Tegra 4 beating the Snapdragon 800.
  • fkanker - Thursday, June 20, 2013 - link

The Geekbench bench on Ars? The CPU part where Tegra 4 beat the S800 by up to 5%? OK, but what about the power? Qualcomm claims it's on par with the S600, nVidia doesn't say a word. If it was good they would yell about it...

The Tegra 4 in Shield have active cooling, it outperforming a Passive cooled Snapdragon 800 would be no surprise.

too bad this isn't nexus 5.

Who told you it isn't? Google had a few generations of Samsung phones, maybe it's LG's turn (me like).
  • amdwilliam1985 - Thursday, June 20, 2013 - link

Nexus 4 with S4pro has plenty of cpu power already. I have never ever seen it lag or slow down at all. I hope Google focus on battery life and camera going forward.
Battery life & camera are the 2 things that prevented me from getting a N4, maybe the upcoming xPhone or N5 can change my mind. I have high hopes for the xPhone.
