I thought most board sockets were gold plated already with varying amounts of gold. Does ECS really think it can distinguish itself with the marketing of a "golden board?"
I think many of ECS's answers are off the mark. They say they won't go into overclocking because mobos today are "good enough." Yet they are focused on stability testing. Isn't stability testing a given for every mobo maker? It sounds to me that they are having stability issues on their non-overclocking boards as it is.
Dropping by Newegg to check out ECS mobo reviews doesn't really help their case either. It looks like people simply avoid ECS as a brand...

well I guess he never said it did anything for performance. Probably just a physical designation for higher line products?
