Some people want a larger screen. Bigger keyboard, better media experience. I don't personally like them, but they are fairly popular. And a larger footprint lets you put in a bigger battery.
I like large screens, but this one appears to be the same low-resolution as the outgoing model (800x480), which negates some of the benefits. Why not go whole-hog and update the display to a modern smartphone resolution, too?
More like, Microsoft has set base limits that each phone must reach to maintain stability between the different models. Eventually the limit will be increased to include dual core... something that the platform hasn't needed at all as the OS is damn fast.

The first Titan's camera was reviewed as exceptional by GSMArena. I am sure this one would be an improvement.ant1pathy - Monday, January 9, 2012 - link

It is a limitation with WP. That is why all WP handsets can't have more than 1 core and why they all have the same resolution across all devices.damianrobertjones - Thursday, January 12, 2012 - link

You are aware that THIS phone has a dual core in it right?Icyicy9999 - Monday, January 9, 2012 - link
In the Lumia 800 review you said that WP7 compresses images so much there's visible artifacts, wouldn't that ruin a 16MP camera?Brian Klug - Tuesday, January 10, 2012 - link
That's true, hopefully HTC has managed to turn that compression level down, or this is going to be interesting.-Brian

If the camera resolution is so high, why doesn't the phone do 1080p video recording? Is this a side effect of not having a dual core CPU?
