As great as that would be - unlikely, very unlikely. International contests are complicated because of all those different laws involved, so no luck for us it seems :(
There is a VAT for that. As long as that statement holds true you guys are probably SoL.
Honestly, taxes and shipping for something like a memory module is more than the cost to buy the things locally anyway, and you guys want AT to shoulder that burden??? Ha!!!
It's nice to see that G. Skill was so willing to help out. I already buy the majority of my RAM from them, but this just gives me a little bit more faith.
Here I sit, looking at three newsy items you just posted, Anand, on a Saturday. That is awesome. I always dread the weekends because they're dull and dead. I need my tech fix. Your "This Just In" is really helping to sate my hunger. Thanks!
I'm glad g.skill is doing this: getting their name out there. When I got a 2x2GB DDR2 kit from them in late '08 I had only heard of them days earlier. Now i recommend them to everyone.
I used to have some GSkill RAM back when nobody knew who they were, I actually had read a review on it showing it was just as good as some of the other big names out there. A lot of my buddies gave me crap for getting it but the RAM outlasted the rest of the computer.
Good on G.Skill, I'll definitely place them at the top of my list for my next build. Hope the others choose to jump in too.
I personally have bought products from companies who do this over those who don't to thank them for doing so. No, I haven't won anything yet I just think it's good business.
I have been using G.skill exclusively since 2006 and they haven't let me down yet (knock on wood, lol). Great products at fair prices...G.skill is my go-to brand when looking for memory and my top recommendation when putting together builds. I hope G.skill always keeps its current marketing strategy of providing a great product for a reasonable price, unlike some of their competitors who charge a premium for their brand moniker.
Perhaps a silent giveaway should also be given to those, tweeters and forum/blog commentators that don't just participate when there are free giveaways. I, for one, learn from reading users posts in addition to the articles. Many of times the community here have listed other technology or things to keep in mind.
I'm just throwing the idea out there that those users that participate (when there aren't free giveaways), should be considered for a separate prize.
It`s very cool that you have these giveaways but it`d be nice if you guys would expand the eligibility. Since we`re neighbors and all, (and also the shipping/duties across the border isn`t anywhere near as bad as shipping across the pond) maybe Canada could be phased in on a trial basis....
Also, I agree with the above posters RE: using the Just In on the weekends for those of us that check this site habitually, even on weekends, to give us something to look forward to... The new site layout looks great, too. Keep up the good work!
I've been buying RipJaws Ram for a long time. Recently, I added Sniper RAM to my list of choices. I like that you get no sad surprises when you use GSKill. It works as expected and has no compatibility issues that you have to overcome. There is a lot to be said for something just working, every time.

Well as a compromise they should do a different country every time, at-least everyone would get a turn then!SandmanWN - Saturday, April 10, 2010 - link

AT could, for the rest of us, ask that we carry the burden of taxes and shipping. it is an option and an expensive one than buying the things locally.rpsgc - Saturday, April 10, 2010 - link
Will it be US only or open to anyone?mariush - Saturday, April 10, 2010 - link
As long as they're going to be US only, I really don't care.Would be interesting to see what excuse you'll find now, as these are not very "expensive" things for which you'd have to pay taxes and fees.
