It must be a groan to travel to a viral spreading derelict from last century like a trade show to be surrounded by a sea of sweaty journalists holding their cameras and phones in the air to snap article fodder pics of a people making presentations only to deal with post-convention illnesses while thinking about how much simpler it would be if they'd just streamed webcasts.
The idea of a trade show is to see the products from multiple companies, but also to interact with representatives of the companies directly, ask questions, talk about the products, etc. Now, if you only care about the official presentations, then yea, no reason to actually travel to a location to see it live, but if you want to be able to really discuss products and maybe even get a chance to talk to someone who could influence things, nothing beats going to a trade show. Not everyone is just locked into a single company.
