More manufacturers should include two PS/2 ports. Very useful when troubleshooting USB controller problems. Thumbs down for the green color scheme, spoils what would otherwise be an aesthetically pleasing MB.

There's a niche for PS/2 ports, but more motherboard manufacturers should drop them altogether. Outside of that tiny niche, no one uses them.

Agreed. Still useful for XOC, though, so they do make sense on this board.

Just get an USB to PS2 adapter. Solved!

It's not the same. You should Google USB vs PS2 before spouting nonsense.

Fucking useless when your USB controller goes haywire.

PS/2 ports are far better for getting into BIOS at boot than USB. Press a key on USB and most of the time it boots to Windows. Press a key on a PS/2 keyboard and you get to BIOS every time.

PS/2 ports have lower latency than USB.

Some keyboards (like IBM Model M) don't work with the PS/2 to USB adapters.

Everything with less than 10 USB ports wont get purchased by me anymore.
Last time I needed a PS/2 port was when I needed a floppy drive still.

Actually, thats wrong, I did try to connect a PS/2 keyboard to an ASRock board a few months ago, because the USB settings in the BIOS were messed up and it didnt accept any input anymore.
    Didnt work.
    Yeah, no thanks.

Some of us need a PS/2 port more than your 100 USB ports.

I dread the day I have to set up DIY computer with a USB keyboard.

I genuinely don't understand why people who aren't the target market for the board come along to shit on it because it doesn't fit your specific needs.

There's a reason this board has PS/2 ports and only 2 DIMM slots. If that doesn't fit your needs, this board is likely not for you. You don't need to comment and say why you don't like it.. just walk on.

I think a Single PS/2 Port with dual colors to represent a Combo Port for KB & Mouse is fine. No need to use more Rear I/O Panel space than 1x Port IMO.

Yep, with PS/2 ports you can install Windows 7 onto the machine successfully and then install the modified xHCI USB3.0 drivers for Intel / AMD. Those ports are super useful for these mature platforms of AMD and Intel.

SOOOO ready for this board. It's been ages since there was an OCF board (X299). Lots of choices this generation with this, the Apex, Tachyon, Dark and Unify-X all announced.

too bad these new 11 gen chips suck big time. I guess u could always grab a cheap 10850k or something and have your way with it on this board.

    Things I like
2x slots of RAM for shorter traces and higher overclocking potential
Boot error code 7 segmented LED
Easy to access power, reset, cmos reset and DIP switches, on both the forward and rear of the board
    8x USB 3 ports

    Things I don't like
    Weird color scheme
    It's not AM4

or, in other words, it's a shame Intel's 11th gen. i9 is such hot garbage.
  • Silver5urfer - Monday, April 12, 2021 - link

Nah, after reading on the hot garbage called AGESA. I'm almost convinced that Intel is better choice for a far stable system.
  • Oxford Guy - Saturday, April 3, 2021 - link

Just in time to celebrate Intel’s elimination of the overclocking warranty program.
  • Silver5urfer - Monday, April 12, 2021 - link

Can we replace these CNVi Wifi modules with something like Intel 8265 ? Since Intel doesn't provide the drivers for Win7 on these cards while the 8265 and Killer NICs have Win7 drivers.

Just checked the landing page, the board looks very different and good to see OC Formula series back, also they added a ton of good quality features at-least from the marketing. The only bad part I noticed is how they attached VRM fans behind the heatsink.
