Because someone needed to prove that an oldschool nostril cam is not the worst of all possible designs.

Because the primary demographic that this is marketed to does not use webcams.

Gaming laptop needs to do everything else and game also. Leaving out the webcam means this is a 2020 laptop with a 2021 CPU/GPU.
