Oh joy, what started out as a simple standard with a handful of supported form factors has now ballooned to literally more than a dozen different ones from different vendors, thus entirely destroying the point of having a standard to begin with.
If only someone had done a cartoon sketch on this exact topic, then we could all refer to it as needed. It could even be called something geeky and hard to pronounce. But I guess that’ll never happen.
I almost made that making fun of Eve Online, but decided against it. I was too busy creating spreadsheets to figure out if I could make money in the game.
