Dam. Early leaked specs said this Mi Note 10 would also have microSD card slot so thought it would be my next phone. I still can't consider any phone without a microSD card slot myself.
I'll take a guess solely based on what other people answered to my same question: -at least 500GB of lossless audio at any time (less than that gets boring, also works great with those BT headphones); -all RAW photos (maybe if this is bought by actual photographers it makes sense?) -4K movies (I have nothing!) -something else along those lines that will make you scratch your head and wonder why most of that can't just as easily go on a USB OTG stick or if such a phone is even the best place for it...
I think part of that's mine, but I rarely use BT headphones, and in this model's case, even the full res JPGs are over 70MB. I don't know how you justify lack of storage with a USB OTG stick because not many people carry those around these days, it doesn't stay on the phone or else it takes up a port in use which is now more and more commonly the only port on the phone, unless you shuffle files around each time so you could unplug it as quickly as possible.
Disabling the jpg makes sense as the lens resolution is only 27MP. On the other hand the DNG is useful as the sub pixels contain the hdr and while balance data.
GSMA's review is out and although they don't do shootouts like Andrei nearly as often they have the same scenes shot with 108MP and 27MP respectively, AFAICT from the first shot with a half concealed sun in the window reflection (the rest are low DR shots to begin with) the 108MP and 27MP mode have identical DR, I was surprised as well.
I suspect the HDR algorithm is applied to both shots. The AI does a surprisingly good job of generating detail in the 108MP given the lens is only 27MP. Regular patterns are nicely enhanced but areas like grass reveal the actual resolution. I would like to see if you could generate the detail just as well in post processing on a PC.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Max design is beautiful The screen comes with a high frequency at last The processor in Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is excellent in the mid-range category The RAM is large with a large internal space. Back cameras. Redmi Note 10 Pro Max's battery is bigger with fast charging. There are almost all of the sensors.
That is quite the big battery. I'll have to take a look at reviews once they come out. Currently looking at the Mi 9T Pro, OnePlus 7 Pro and now this as my next phone.
The reviews are already popping up for instance you can find one on GSM Arena. Despite large battery the endure is disappointing (for now) thanks to MiUI 11.
I'd like to see a single, more sane camera and more internal volume dedicated to battery capacity. If you're going to force us to cope with sealed batteries for phones that cost over $500, at least give us the biggest possible capacity so as it degrades, we can continue making use of our outrageously priced cell for more than 2 years.
By more sane you mean with a smaller CMOS? One with a lower resolution does make sense because the amount of data is definitely a significant reason why their processing is far from Google's, but they've proven that this size certainly doesn't hurt on a modern smartphone.
The resolution is for hdr processing and de-noising. The big sensor is because in optics bigger is better. The effective resolution is only 27MP. If you don't care about the camera then there are plenty of options with big batteries.
No, really just for decent 27MP, and it delivers. Most of its advantage directly stems from that additional, and effective resolution. No 10-12MP output could compete on that front, but perhaps Apple with deep fusion could be on par, but then again this is single shot and that's a burst and there will be tradeoffs especially since iP11's merge isn't as reliable as Pixel 3's(Pixel 4's performance so far is questionable).
omg please review the camera compare it to 48mp 40mp pixel's and samsungs 12mp. i wanna see a detail comparison. Also please in your review. Mention the color accuracy of each photograph, like which is the most realistic etc.
Are you new here? Anandtech's smartphone reviews always include original full res samples from the reviewed model as well as direct competitors, you'll see everything yourself. Color accuracy is often but not always mentioned. I never trust AWB though and always exercise my own judgement in LR.
Now the phones that started to target mid range users are competing for a higher end share of market. undoubtedly they can excel in performance and speed but when it comes to ppi, the Samsung phones are market leader.
OK, we are getting out of hand with the MegaPixel inflation + Camera overload. At this rate next year we will be seeing hexa/hepta/octa lens mobile phone cameras that still pale in comparison to a cheap single lens/sensor dedicated camera. Would you prefer having 5/6/7/8 shitty sensors or just 1/2 really good ones?
There has been significant lack of innovation in this department, nothing creative with lenses or sensors, just just add more more more!!!
108 + 20 + 12 + 5 + 2 = 147 mp + 32 mp front camera = 179 mp
179 megapixels worth of camera sensors and lenses taking up 50% of the mainboard real-estate! We now have more sensors on this thing than most satellites we send into space.
32 mp front camera? So we can see every pimple, pore and blemish? Oh sorry that's digitally removed by software to make the image blurry again which negates all the benefits to begin with but hey marketing!!
From the point of view of WikiMob Xiaomi Mi Note 10 already has the best back camera in the price category for it, but we blame it for using this processor, which causes slow process of image processing, and also the battery is large but does not give performance as much as its size You can see a phone review in Arabic from this link http://wiki-mob.com/2020/01/28/xiaomi-mi-note-10-2...

Interesting. May I ask what sort of data you keep on your phone that 256GB isn't enough? :)close - Thursday, November 7, 2019 - link

4k60fps video takes up space, it's no wonder google disabled that option on their phones with a paltry 64/128gb.s.yu - Thursday, November 7, 2019 - link
Following that argument Xiaomi should disable 108MP JPG, not to mention DNG, unless they have expandable storage.BedfordTim - Thursday, November 7, 2019 - link

Rats no edit. Ignore the bit about white balance. These things only have a 27MP Bayer mask.s.yu - Thursday, November 7, 2019 - link
