"For example, a camcorder equipped with a 5G modem will be able to broadcast 8K video with HDR to the Internet without using a smartphone"

Did someone forget to tell sharp that uploads on 5g networks are at 4g?

You probably meant 128 Mbps for Ultra HD Blu-ray, not 128 Gbps.

"5G will make a lot of sense for such a broadcast"

I'm sure the cellular providers that will be billing you by the kilobyte after you blow away your monthly data allotment 30 minutes into starting a data stream will agree with that idea. Though you might also find that the 128 kbps they offer after you break 20GB that they downspeed you to if you plan is unlimited with caveats will offer outstanding, high quality images.

There is a 5G broadcast spec being work on, which means you can watch Aerial TV on 5G Network .

Now people will only need to take their 8k screen outside and align it correctly to see the power of 5G streaming.

    lol @ 5G for 512Gbps

Of course we all know the real reason they're integrating a 5g modem in is so that you can't opt out of the #InternetOfShit spyware it has built in by refusing to connect it to your network and using it as a dumb display with any streaming service provided by external devices.

Don't forget the microphone that's built into everything these days.

If it doesn't have a camera, a microphone, and an always-on internet connection it's not "smart".

"Be Original." Copy pastes the press release.

    8K television

A solution not in need of a problem.

The problem definitely exists: how to convince consumers to waste money on a product that don't need.

But, it's not like they know anything about human visual acuity and television/film-watching distances.

Nvidia is drooling. $15,000 GPUs anyone?

you should probably be asking all the vendors where are the current official UHD2 8K [almost] 120hz gfx displays that can decode and display the official hardware hybrid log gamma
NHK 24 July 2020 Summer Olympics UHD2 8K 120hz standard satalite test channel public broadcasting since december 2018.

324 days 14 hours 38 min 41sec away and counting...

as in NHK/bbc ENGINEERING have been telling the whole electronics world for at least 6+years this official spec use case they will be using for the 24 July 2020 Olympics end user/consumer public broadcasts and beyond, IPTV etc, so no real excuse.

"NHK:The picture quality of the broadcasts -will be- is 16 x greater than that of [full] HD, and audio -will be- is delivered in 22.2 multi-channel. NHK -will be- is broadcasting in frame rates of 59.94, 60 and 120P."
