    Those actually look very nice.
  • PeachNCream - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

I think pink is easy to overdo to the point where it becomes just too pink. This attempt isn't overdone though and I agree that they do look good. Now if I could just find decent, fanless laptops in this sort of color scheme...

Can check out the Razer Blade Stealth 13 in base model. I don't know if it's fanless though. It's also all pink. The keys aren't gray or anything. Just a whole lot of pink.

I'm not normally for pink, but I like these! They look a lot better than many other "gaming" peripherals these days, with their abundance of very bright neon green/blue etc.
  • darkswordsman17 - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

I actually like a more neon or fuschia color myself, at least as far as pink colors go. But its definitely nice to have options and ideally it'd be maybe a few. I think a fuschia with a stronger purple color (versus the gray-ish lavender that it looks like they have here).

I was thinking along the line os a nice purple glow that one would get from a "blacklight like" purple hue.

I very much like purple as my eye deal nicely with it, much more so than green/blue/brown certain shades, than again I am a guy, os native decent, and of the blue eyed variety (more prone color blind to blue/green or red/browns, I kind of have a mix of both those type... duetron and the other but if set for the 3rd type, things magically come alive to my eye bools :D

for example...Xigmatech XLF (crystal series clear fan, RGB light in the corners and speckles a nice purple black light esque color.. had 4 fans at one point. all were to my eye, identical in color presentation, unlike green - blue -white - red etc I have seen many times over, have to get many, to settle on a few of the "best"

    anywho.

agreed. a nice darker purple/candy like purple dark, but with a "candy" gloss type deal would be ok... darker to the purple yum yum.. like an excellent vintage a deep purpley black until drink it (like a blueberry appears the most blue when is near black, would say black berry, but no purple in there, egg plant not dark enough .. midnight I believe is almost the exact "shade"

I'm with the others, these are surprisingly classy looking. I would totally own one, and pink isn't a color I typically choose.
  • Old_Fogie_Late_Bloomer - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

I can forgive the F1-F4 and F9-F12 keys being pink, but it's kinda ruined by the `~ and \| keys not being gray.

What is that tube on the upper left (on the media key row)? Is it just an odd volume knob, or is it a light tube? Maybe both?
  • brakdoo - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

    volume wheel
  • rocky12345 - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

I guess I am the odd man out here and will say pink no thank you. They would look very nice if they also do these in other color sets as well not just the pink.

Yes I have noticed the new Pink trend for computer stuff the last few months I guess it is like everyone just does the follow the leader and says me too me too kind of thing. Also what is up with ASUS using the ROG naming on pretty much everything they put out now days. The ROG branding was meant to be for the most upper end stuff that was made with better quality in mind and just better than their regular stuff. Now it seems even the run of the mill stuff gets the same branding as to better stuff. Hard to tell what is the best and what is not the best this way. I guess that is what they want though is to confuse everyone.

Yeah, I'm like mr. neutral colors.

Pink makes a statement, no two ways about it.
  • GeraltofRivia - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

Asus is marketing these for girls right? They are trying to bring more girls into gaming. Why no mention of this obvious reason. Last time I checked pink is a girls color. What the F*** anandtech!
  • boozed - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

    There's always one...
  • thesavvymage - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

First of all, pink isnt just for girls. Pink was historically a young boy's color as Red, associated with blood and war, was a man's color. Pink, being a lighter shade, was for boys. So your nonsense has no place here.

Pink is IN right now, I'm a male and think that keyboard looks dope.

Secondly, even if it were the case, why would you be upset that Anandtech didnt say "ASUS is targeting women"?
  • cmdrdredd - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

Shoot me but it's "in" because every dude wants to identify as a chick and god forbid some company not cater to a niche demographic.
  • Alistair - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

    There's another one....
  • SlyNine - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

    Naa is just you
  • hansmuff - Wednesday, June 26, 2019 - link

    Speak for yourself.
  • SlyNine - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

    And me.. And most.
  • Spunjji - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

    What a maroon
  • SlyNine - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

For pointing out what's generally true.
  • GeraltofRivia - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

Thanks for the history lesson snowflake but it's still a girls color!
  • Spunjji - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

"this colour is only for girls and saying otherwise makes me irate"
    also
    "you are the snowflake"

    Okay, snowflake. <3

Okay! By the way, Amazon has pink underwear on sale this week. If your interested I'll send you a link? Let me know!
  • SlyNine - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

To signal their love to the sacred group of feminine deities, who might be utterly destroyed by the fact pink my be associated with it, he shall by those ultra masculine underwear and wear them with pride.
  • GeraltofRivia - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

    Haha!
  • mode_13h - Monday, July 1, 2019 - link

    Cool story, bro.
  • SlyNine - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

    Lol love it.

Thousands of lefties were harmed by this "hate speech".
  • PeachNCream - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

Being left handed is pretty rare. I doubt there are thousands of them that even read Anandtech.
  • Reflex - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

This post was a great test of which men are insecure in their masculinity...
  • GeraltofRivia - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

Less soy more red meat boys! You might have to fight a REAL war some day!
  • Valantar - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

Well done, Asus, for finding this surprisingly appealing shade of pink. I'm impressed. I normally strongly dislike pastels, and in particular that peach-like shade of pink that is quite often used for "pink" products, yet this shade manages to allude to that while being really damn appealing. I doubt I'll be buying any of these peripherals (if I'm getting a new mouse, keyboard, or headset there are far better options out there), but that mousepad might be just what I need to add a splash of color to my desk. Interesting. The obnoxious ROG branding is even less terrible when it loses some of its over-the-top machismo in this colorway.
  • Spunjji - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

More colours is always good, and having a choice of things that don't try to scream "GENERIC GAMER" is nice too. Not sure about the keyboard, though - I find the decisions about how to split the colours up to be a bit jarring. The mouse and headset seem better in that regard.
  • Flunk - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

I'll be interesting to see if these sell. I know a few people who love pink. Maybe they'll try some more colors. I wouldn't mind a lime-green and white keyboard and mouse combo.
  • SlyNine - Thursday, June 27, 2019 - link

I sent this to my girlfriend because she likes pink.

But apparently this shade of pink sucks. lol
  • khanikun - Friday, June 28, 2019 - link

Looks okay. I prefer Razer's pink stuff. They started it last year with some breast cancer awareness limited time frame stuff. Must have took off, since they ended up just making it part of their lineup. I won't buy any of Razer's stuff though. Their quality has gone down.

Guess other manufacturers noticed and followed along.
