    Frankly, after the unsupported on day 1 debacle that is the Mirage Solo, I don't know what leg they're trying to pull with this

    Don't forget about their foray into VR, with a Windows MR HMD. They were also an early adopter of Google's Project Tango, offering the first 3rd party device to support it. Google killed Tango within less than a year afterwards and didn't even support ARCore on their phone. ...with partners like that, who even needs competitors?

    In some ways, I think this is a smaller gamble. I think MS has shown there's a real, durable market for AR, in certain industries. Whether Lenovo will be able to capitalize on this, without all of MS' clout, is another matter.

    It is interesting that they made a statement about it being OS agnostic. I wonder if they ultimately have plans to support Windows on this thing, as a true, lower-cost alternative to Hololens 2.
