  • eva02langley - Friday, May 25, 2018 - link

    Oh wait...

(Is there any accurate info in this at all?)

Gotta love Intel and their contribution to the world: the UP TO marketing.

Yeah it isn't Anandtech's fault, but Acer "announcing" all these monitors with no specific specs is stupid.

I want a 27" 1440p 144hz IPS monitor, is that coming, what will it cost? Acer won't say. "Up to" indeed.

There are already 27" 1440p 144hz IPS monitors on the market. Those have been available for quite some time now. Acer already sells them.

I want an LG IPS, not an AUO AHVA (IPS type) one. I don't know what panel Acer will be using though.

    No Vesa? No thanks.
  • siuol11 - Monday, May 28, 2018 - link

They both have VESA mounting points on the back if you look.

The two pictures shown include a VG0 with vesa holes and an RG0 without. If that pattern applies to the entire product lines is TBD because Acer's data dump was so awfully imcomplete.

The integrated speakers seem a bit weak. But they have HDMI and VGA so the important inputs are there at least. I'd rather see each speaker push about twice as much power, but without a review on their quality, it won't matter either way.

Monitor integrated speakers are always terrible because the drivers are too small. Until you see a monitor with big drivers jutting out the bottom, or someone comes out with totally new speaker technology that's how it's going to stay.

I like the idea of getting "good enough" sound without the hassle of an extra set of objects around so as long as monitor speakers are passable, then I'd be happy. If I want better sound quality, I'll just find some earbuds or headphones since they're smaller and take up less space.

Being Freesync, shouldn't they be publishing a lower bound as well?
  • mooninite - Friday, May 25, 2018 - link

Are these FreeSync 2.0? Very vague information listed here.
  • limitedaccess - Friday, May 25, 2018 - link

Are you able to get anymore details on the VG0? Specifically if this means there will actually be a 1080p 144hz IPS 24 inch class display, meaning a low cost IPS high refresh option for the desktop?
  • sibuna - Friday, May 25, 2018 - link

    Sigh. Still no 34"
  • Samus - Thursday, May 31, 2018 - link

Of ALL companies I wouldn't expect Acer to be the first to pull off mainstream 144Hz Freesync IPS displays...
  • milkod2001 - Thursday, May 31, 2018 - link

Getting there. Now 32''4k, gsync, 120Hz please at €1200 max.
  • laychi - Wednesday, July 4, 2018 - link

Is the FHD edition 144Hz?I hope yes.
