A logo/trademark is also business area specific. If Google was in the business of selling SSDs they might have had a case. However Google does not sell SSDs (at least to the public, who knows what custom stuff they make for internal use) so this cannot confuse or trick any potential buyers. Selling laptops and smartphones is a bit close to selling SSDs but it's not close enough.
Google does sell storage. So the confusion might be there. The first result for gdrive on google returns Google Drive, one of their main product. It also returns GDrive for Google Drive, some app. In logo/trademark, likelihood of confusion plays a central role. I think this would clearly apply. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm rather confident a lawyer and a judge would see it that way.
I am not sure whether external ssd or internal is better. May be we need to look at the benchmarks regarding read/write speeds. The type of NAND technology is also important. As SSDs are already shock-proof, I think G-Drive mobile Pro SSDs may not make that much of a difference.

That branding looks really close to Google's, they better watch out of they'll find themselves on the end of a trademark lawsuit.edgineer - Thursday, April 12, 2018 - link
