The reason this is being considered "designed for Threadripper" is because the heatspreader is massive. No mainstream air cooler actually covers it, even if the mounting bracket is modified.
The Intel Core i9 has plenty of compatible air coolers already because its heat spreader is shared with the Xeon it is effectively based off.

Why need to make it compatible with intel, good thing ditching it.AM4/TR4, mobos that will be lurking till 2020, then new mobos TR5/AM5 for DDR5 that will probably have the same socket and bracket layout.
