My next build is going to be a CUDA box to do physics computations. Gaming hardware is ideal for this, and this case looks almost perfect. Would love to win it and put it to use doing research.
Ew, they took the Twelve Hundred and made it look like a Cooler Master HAF. Not sure why Antec made a high end full tower that's way too small to support E-ATX, but I'll still take it! =P
I've been anandtech fan more than 4 years. Anandtech has been my reference when buying PC component till now. Just 3 words for this Antec Antec DF-85 Gaming Chassis.
Über-agressive styling that case has. Anandtech chosen hardware will I fill it with. This giveaway is for the kid in us, let's just hope the us includes me.
This would be a great case to replace my current case, which is 2x antec 300's bolted side by side to give me enough space for all my hard drives and full length graphics cards.
This is a very nice rig. I wonder how those hot-swap drives work on this case. I actually have never really seen hot-swap of internal drives in action. I assume they have to be in raid 10 for example, and you can only remove upto to maximum 3 drives?
That case looks neat. Does it have a motherboard tray? I swear more case makers need to add that functionality in. My cm-stacker 830 has it and it makes upgrading much easier. Antec if your listening- MOTHERBOARD TRAYS ROCK.
Every time I look at it and see those 3 horizontal bars on the front I think they look like wrenchs of sorts. "Evil Case" was definitely the look Antec's engineers were looking for, and I would say shy of including a pint of pigs blood with every case, that they succeeded.
I have been needing to replace my 10 year old steel white antec case, with black one to match the series 9 I have on my openSuse system. This would definitely work.
I am going to do a major upgrade/build of my system in the next couple of months and this case would be a great one to put it in. I'd be very happy to do that.
My brother just got this case for his new pre-built PC and it looks sweet. Almost seems overdone (the massive fan on the top made me chuckle), but all in all looks really nice.
I'd trade subtlty for ease of use. The silverstone FT01 wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Difficult to access top air filter and not designed with SSD in mind. Would love to upgrade to this.
Man, I could really put this to use. This case also looks damn decent. It almost looks Gothic, which is really cool. The bottom mounted PSU option is definitely a plus!
The case looks awesome and the boy's been ticking me off as of late! TAKE THE TRADE! I need something to replace this POS 5 year old Raidmax Sagita. The thing is as flimsy as tin foil.
Here's my entry. I've looked plenty at the Antec 1200 and own a P193 (overall a solidly built case, good workmanship, but I've been very disappointed with both the acoustic performance and the airflow, issues with the fundamental design), so I'd really love to give this guy a try!
After 15 years of custom building systems, I've learned to go with Antec everytime unless someone specifically requests otherwise. (which isn't very often). Great stuff and if you have a problem, they are always more than fair in correcting it!
I was saving all my potential winnings for a SSD drive but what the heck, that case looks amazing and I've had my antec case for literally 8+ years now.
And here I was trying to convince myself not to build another PC. If I get this, it's the perfect case for my next build. Hell, I'll even post a blog :-p
Could always use one. Usually I'm too cheap to replace my old el-cheapo beige cases unless they really need it...
(For my primary desktop, I use a nice Antec case, but all the rest are left over beige jobs, so IF I won this I could move the other beige at the desk to the Antec and the primary desktop to a nifty modern case...)

... especially if this case makes getting to the air filters easy. The 1200 makes me remove both sides of the case, then remove 8 thumbscrews for each bay before I can slide said bays out to get to the damn filter. Bad, Antec, bad!
I'm still using a white Antec tower from my first build in 2001. Still going strong and nothing has broken after numerous hardware upgrades and 4 different builds (except the case ofcourse). But the door is finally jamming up and I think it's time to replace it
My GTX 280 would love some clean air to breathe. Its stuck in a lame raidmax mid-tower that only has 3 fans max. I cant do any overclocking of my q9550 either with it stuck breathing the gpu's hot air. I would definetly see this as a "cool" welcome!

I built my son a gaming system awhile back but had to skimp on the case since I spent so much on the motherboard, processor, memory and graphics card. This would make his system a complete and "awesome" gaming computer.

This is something I could really use. I laid off of signing up for all the RAM, which while being a nice prize was useless to me - so someone else should have it. This prize though is too good to pass up. Keep up the giveaways Anand, and thank you Antec.
We moved and my rig is stuck in a box, in a POD, in a warehouse, 30 miles from me. Even when I get it back it still needs a power supply upgrade before I can add a decent graphics card.

This is a great giveaway! I dig the red LED, which gives it a mean look. It's a nice change from the blue LED. Someone should use green as that should be easy on the eyes. Good luck and hope I win!
Thanks for 13 great years. For at least 11 of those years, whenever I've wanted objective hardware reviews with the engineering to back it up, I've always come to anandtech.
Last computer I built was in 2003 and it's still going strong. I thought it's case was big but this case is HUGE! Well, if I win, I guess I can forego the gym for a week and just lug that thing around. If my wife helps me, we can both get some exercise! Cool contest folks! God bless!

I would absolutely LOVE this case to replace an old ATX Full-Tower case that I've been using for well over 6 years (terrible air-flow and barely enough room for my 4x hard drives, video card, motherboard, CD/DVD-ROM drive, Floppy Drive, etc..)!

lots of people think it looks ugly, i dont. I think its form follows function. And I like the fact that Antec finally has made changing the filters easier. In my old Antec, I have to unscrew the case and the drive bays to remove and clean the filters.. which becomes a hassle.

Hey,This is a very nice rig. I wonder how those hot-swap drives work on this case. I actually have never really seen hot-swap of internal drives in action. I assume they have to be in raid 10 for example, and you can only remove upto to maximum 3 drives?

Neat looking case.Every time I look at it and see those 3 horizontal bars on the front I think they look like wrenchs of sorts. "Evil Case" was definitely the look Antec's engineers were looking for, and I would say shy of including a pint of pigs blood with every case, that they succeeded.

Could always use one. Usually I'm too cheap to replace my old el-cheapo beige cases unless they really need it...(For my primary desktop, I use a nice Antec case, but all the rest are left over beige jobs, so IF I won this I could move the other beige at the desk to the Antec and the primary desktop to a nifty modern case...)

SunnyD : Got SCREWED
From a purely profit perspective (not business perspective cause there's more to business than profit, ie: image/PR), Antec and Anandtech both made the moves most profitable to themselves.
However, it really does make Anandtech look morally cheap and negligent about its core community by screwing over SunnyD. Might even rub off on Antec. Anandtech should be thanking that sub-forum community for generating this opportunity IMHO. Too bad most contestants won't have a clue what led to the case giveaway....

We moved and my rig is stuck in a box, in a POD, in a warehouse, 30 miles from me. Even when I get it back it still needs a power supply upgrade before I can add a decent graphics card.This would make a nice case to replace the old rig. Give me a chance and I will post follow up pics of the new beast.

When I first saw the case pic an old soul song popped into my head. It's the old Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell song "If I Could Build My Whole World Around You".Great song, Great case!

lots of people think it looks ugly, i dont. I think its form follows function. And I like the fact that Antec finally has made changing the filters easier.
