Introduction
It's time once again for AnandTech's Memory and Motherboard price guide.
The basic goal is to provide you with the best deals, and follow price trends
of the listed products. We have selected a leading team of on-line vendors,
and will be tracking their progress on weekly basis. Please note that all vendors
were selected according to their best price offered. Some vendors may ask that
you place a phone-order to make sure that you receive our listed price; others
simply ask that you mention where you found the price (in this case AnandTech).
We have tried to eliminate vendors with low feedback rating, but we do encourage
you to do some research before purchasing any product from this list.
If you encounter any problems with a vendor on our list, please email us, and we will take appropriate action. Remember that we will only list vendors with positive customer feedback. If you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to let us know.
Also be sure to check out AnandTech's Hot Deals Forum for even more great memory, motherboard, CPU, video card and other technology buys.

This Week
Welcome to the Second Edition of AnandTech's Memory and Motherboard Price Guide for the June.
Unlike weeks past where memory prices were known to have taken some big nosedives in price, this week the price drops are fewer for the most part but there are some substantial drops. We were amazed to see a $171 price drop with 512MB of PC2100 ECC memory which is the largest memory price drop we've recorded to date. Percentagewise, that's roughly equates to a 25% drop in price; not too shabby at all. PC2100 and PC1600 modules are quiet this week but RDRAM on the other hand has dropped a good bit in price. A good number of PC133 and PC100 modules have either dropped or remained the same in price this week. Joining the DDR memory list are some PC2100 ECC modules.
Slot-1/Socket-370/Socket-423 motherboards haven't made much noise at all since
our last guide. There are several drops and actually several increases in prices,
but nothing significant overall. We've added the Gigabyte GA-6VXD7 Dual VIA
Apollo Pro 133A and Iwill's DVD266-R motherboard to the list.
This week more Socket-A DDR mobos are on the fall making these boards more affordable. The rest of the Socket-A pack haven't changed too much with a few spots of price drops. New to the Socket-A list is ABIT's AMD 760 contender, the KG7-RAID and the Gigabyte 7VTX KT266 motherboard.

Memory prices have quieted down slightly since our last guide but there are still some nice price drops to report. The most noticeable drop is the $171 drop with 512MB of PC2100 ECC memory which equates to approximately a 25% drop. PC2100 and PC1600 memory for the first time have not changed in price whereas RDRAM is beginning to tumble once again with some nice $20 drops.
There are fewer price drops to report with PC133 and PC100 modules this week with about half remaining the same and the other half falling slightly. Though the price drops are fewer they are the best prices since the beginning of the year for these modules.

Not much new has happened with Slot-1/Socket-370/Socket-423 motherboards this week. As you can see, prices have for the most part, have not really changed with most prices remaining the same. We've added two new motherboards to the listing, the Gigabyte GA-6VXD7 Dual VIA Apollo Pro 133A motherboard and the Iwill DVD266-R Dual VIA Pro266 motherboard. In addition, we were able to find the ASUS CUV266 motherboard without the additional 128MB of Nanya PC2100 memory which brings down the price to $164 which is still quite high compared to the other VIA Pro266 boards. If you remember, the additional 128MB of Nanya memory brought the price of the CUV266 over $210 which is actually more expensive if you buy the board and memory separately.

This week Socket-A motherboards are also starting to stabilize in price as indicated by more and more unchanged prices. There are several small price drops here and there with KT133/E and KT133A boards whereas KM133 boards have remained the same.
DDR boards actually outweigh the rest of the Socket-A boards in terms of price drops this week since almost all of them have come down in price including the Tyan Thunder K7. We've added some new DDR boards to the list including the Gigabyte 7VTX KT266 board and the ABIT KG7-RAID AMD 760 board bringing the list to a total of 15 boards.
