Should I upgrade my crappy gfx card or cpu? OR BOTH??? What is the advice? Motherboard mind you... must be able to oc the crap outta it... (not super crap just like after a night of drinking crap... ;O )

The marketing ploy to shortchange people already happened (670M / 675M rebrand). This is, at last, the release of some decent performance-class notebook hardware and that can only be a good thing.
It's a shame they already screwed the pooch on the names, though, meaning they've had to bolt on ridiculous quantities of RAM to make it obvious which cards are better.
Thankfully Alienware is being smart enough to not get caught in NVIDIA's ploy. I bet they will use the 2 GB variant of the GTX 675MX and the 1.5 GB variant of GTX 670MX.
One peculiar thing though, the GK104 and GK106 are capable of reaching and exceeding 1200 MHz on the desktop GPus, but they only manage 600 MHz on the notebook side.
It's not that the GPUs can't hit higher clocks; it's a matter of hitting those clocks within a certain TDP. Core and RAM clocks are both higher on the desktop because the TDP is much greater; on notebooks, the highest TDP we've seen is ~100W, and these second tier mobile GPUs are more likely in the 60-75W TDP range.
Unless I'm seeing something different than you, the first graph has a gamma target around 2.4 while the second is around 2.2, so they're labeled correctly.

Now I imagine, someone as thick as you, would go to the purchase arena, and seeing a name used for a GPU chip, would buy it, expecting of course whatever performance your immense experience dictated it would provide, while hopping up and down in joy joy mode that you just got the $100 GPU upgrade that in fact surpasses the $500 GPU upgrade, because not only are nVidia marketers evil, but they have duped the ENTIRE industry, even those who design, manufacture, and sell said gaming notebooks, into a pricing scheme in a marketplace that has absolutely no relation to reality of performance of the GPU arch in the gaming laptop.

Whats up with nvidias mobile department, it seems to be run by a bag of gerbals. Their 7900 was one of the last decent mobile chips. Then we got the lawsuits. I got 2 POS compaqs with single cores from $1500 17" HP Entertainment laptops. Thanks. At least kepler is finally wielding its head and its pretty decent too, enough to drive most pathetic laptop resolutions (i'm still using my Dell 17" with 1920x1200 reso, it had a 7900 but got replaced twice, finally replaced again with a radeon x1400, which doesnt die at least.) And what is this 3GB/4GB memory stuff. Its twice as much as my desktop 670s that might actually use that much memory if I get some of those awesome LG 27" screens. Makes not sense at all.
The memory is entirely a marketing exercise, to make sure the consumer knows these cards are "better" than the 7970M. Funny thing is, if you care about battery life and simple driver updates in your notebook, they really are better. Very odd.
Do you expect them to throw away a ton of perfectly good older 670M's(580's whatever)? You like the prices? They'd go WAY up if they didn't clear out old stock in some way shape or form. I don't believe they are trying to screw customers, rather trying to clear old product. The fact they're marketing the higher end with gobs of memory lets any buyer know what they're getting. Get over it. This is called smart business. The memory may be a waste but it makes it easy for the buyer to figure out what's going on without knowing silly nomenclature in most cases.

According to the NVIDIA product comparison sheet, the Quadro K3000M has a 256-bit bus, which would point to it actually being a really heavily cut down (in terms of SMXes at least) GK104.
