My work laptop's drive is constantly getting hammered by landesk, symantec, and other enterprise bloatware that I'm required to run. I'd be far and away more productive with an ssd but can't convince my boss that's true.
The entrants above and below have all been shown to hate babies and even promote violence against them. There is almost no evidence that I have done the same. Therefore I am surely the one who deserves this SSD, instead of putting it in the hands of proven baby killers.
A vote for Ike is a vote for safe, happy babies.
PS, that is not a threat against babies should I not win, unless that would convince you to give me the SSD.
60GB is a bit small but I can't argue with free! ..and my poor Thinkpad, running as a webdev platform with a bazillion extensions, Apache, Mysql, and who knows what else, could greatly benefit from this. Goodbye 3 minute startup times!

My laptop HDD is dieing, would be sweet to be able to replace it with an SSD. Especially OCZ Vertex, I have a 30GB one in my desktop and it is awesome.
I have to say, of all the upgrades I have done over the years, no single component has made as large a difference to perceived system speed as the addition of an SSD. (I always started off with sufficient RAM, so I never had to do something like bring XP from 256MB to 2GB or anything.) I totally need another one of these for my laptop.
I recently did a new build and was going to order one, but I decided since I had to cut some costs, so the SSD (esp the ones smaller than this at the right pricepoints) had to be put on the backburner. I'd have to reinstall everything but that's okay :)
Can I Haz? I will not fail u SSD! I will use this for more than just a boot drive! If I win I promise to throw as many games on this thing until its full and ready to pwn.
While I'm sure everyone thinks they're the most deserving of such a wonderful piece of technology, I strongly feel after all the arguments have been presented that we can all agree that this should actually be mine ;)
I was just about to pick up an Intel SSD but I think I'm going to wait until next year when they increase in capacity... HOWEVER I wouldn't mind having one of these!
Knowing the perf of SSDs, I am looking for one to host my OS volume.. perf number from OCZ devices are impressive.. certainly looking for Z-drive but will wait for it to drop below 1K..

I bought an X25-M about 2 minutes after reading Anand's first big SSD post so I'm now looking for more space and I'd love to win it instead of buying it as I'm still poor from $500 for 80GB.
I just recently purchased my first SSD, and OCZ Agility 2 120GB drive for my gaming PC. Now my desk PC which I writing this on is felling rather jealous and slow. So if I win this drive it would bring some love to all my PC's.
was considering getting an SSD for my other desktop to replace the velociraptor in it. my GF is moving in soon and is gonna be using that comp regularly, so it would be a really nice upgrade for her
Haven't picked up an SSD yet, so it would be interesting to compare the boot up difference in my system with one of these as the OS drive instead of my traditional HD.
I read everything related to SSDs that I can find, but I can never get enough. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try one yet since they're so expensive. Here's hoping!

i builded and bought few computers before, but never had a SSD before. i had problems with normal HD very few month, wish i can won this and save my headache next time. (sorry about my bad English)
SSD's rock. A Dana-electric Intel G1 (along with a 5770) gave my 939 3800X2 system enough life for me to hold off until Bulldozer. Now, for my laptop-"Pretty please, with sugar and cherries on top"
OCZ rocks - they continue to amaze me. I can't wait until they release a SATA III drive with the new 28 NAND chips - i'm sure it will blow the doors off the competition. Kudos to the R&D dept over @ OCZ

Well, seeing how I spent at least 3 hours on Intel's Retail Edge (twice this year) only to NOT receive a SSD I figure spending 5 minutes to finally register to my favorite tech website and leave this post at least won't hurt so much if I don't get one.
Ohh yeah could do with one of these . just built a super computer(well i think its super) All i need is a decent hard drive Asus Crosshair IV AMD Phenom II 1090t 2 x XFX 5850s 8 gigs of Mushkin DDR 3 ram at 1600MHz @7.8.7.24 coolermaster 850 watt PSU Coolermaster 932 HAF and a crappy 320 hard drive (2years old)
By the way, looking forward to your next SSD review. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not it's worth investing at this time or waiting for the next generation of controllers.
