    Very cool. ;-)

These launches of new AMD parts always tickles my thought whether I'll go on the AMD route to upgrade my ancient desktop. Cheap, dual graphics, and now this lower TDP and better cooler. But there's always that thought at the back of my head...

OOOO, I want it I want it!!!!!!!!!

They missed an opportunity to call it the A10-7865K :)
  • extide - Tuesday, February 2, 2016 - link

What's the significance of that number? I'm still waking up, lol
  • dsraa - Tuesday, February 2, 2016 - link

Just the fact that it counts down 7-8-6-5......that would be funny by itself.
  • nathanddrews - Tuesday, February 2, 2016 - link

... but... that's not how counting works...
  • bigboxes - Tuesday, February 2, 2016 - link

I would count down that way... if I was dislexic :p

There's a 7890 coming, which is almost counting upwards (7890 appears on your keyboard anyway).

The 65 could be for the 65W TDP
  • LarsBars - Tuesday, February 9, 2016 - link

A10-7860K is the only APU that is unlocked, quad core, has 512 gpu shaders... AND has a 65 watt TDP. So that is what's special about this APU. They could have made a nod to the 65w TDP by calling it the A10-7865K :)

$100 to $110 for 8320E from Microcenter with $40 off a board is still the thing to beat for AM3+.
  • AS118 - Wednesday, February 3, 2016 - link

You're absolutely right. The 6300, 4350, and the higher-end Athlons are only slightly cheaper than the 8320E you listed, but the 8320E has so much potential power.

Their 8370E's can be pretty cheap too. That said, the regular, "full fat" 8320's can be cheap on sale too.

They must be kidding me - "2x faster than i5 "!? How is it gonna happen ? FX 8370 is only 24.6% faster than i5 4590 but with 2x more cores . Overclocking , hmm and how many watts would it draw ? i dont believe that ad .

You mean a company would just go and exaggerate in an advert? I'm shocked
