Hmm if HP were serious about countering the iPad's inroads into business, you'd think they'd go straight for a 9.7" screen. iPad mini size is great for its intended purpose, but that purpose is not inking or spreadsheets etc....
"HP’s first announcement is HP Sure Start, which was first launched in 2013, and HP is making the push to let prospective buyers know that they are the only company with this technology at the moment. HP Elite line of notebooks, as well as HP ZBooks will offer Sure Start, which protects against BIOS malware by performing a check on the BIOS before the system boots, and if it finds that the BIOS has been tampered with it overwrites it to the original state. Checking the BIOS before launch is certainly not a new idea, and Windows Secure Boot already does this, however HP’s new addition of having a clean copy of the BIOS to re-write if needed is something that is not part of the Secure Boot process, which will perform the check but if it fails the test, the system will just not boot."
Aww, that reminds me of the ever useful BIOS checks Lenovo does to ensure that no customer ever tries to put non-Lenovo-rebranded hardware into their devices -- you know just to protect the customers from themselves and unsatisfactory results by tampering with their nice devices... This one-ups that by making sure that no one will ever be able to flash a BIOS with the whitelist removed, great!
Wow, didn't know that about Lenovo. I'd never buy Lenovo anyway, but now I'll extra not-buy-it lol.
Surestart in some ways sounds good, except it premises on this "clean" firmware actually being clean. If something can do something to the firmware, why can't it also do something to the backup firmware?
Our IT people have been testing with W10 on desktops, notebooks, and tablets since the preview started. I doubt we'll switch to W10 on release day, but the switch will happen sooner than our move from XP to 7.
I'm looking at many devices in the 11.6" to 13.3" range and I love that middle of the road 12.5" screen, if only there were more offerings in that space!
Really good news. I have a blog about windows 10 settings and it has very useful post like <a href="https://windowsclassroom.com/how-to-enter-bios-win... . I will definitely share this page on my blog. Thanks for the news

I wonder if they'll update the Streams when 10 comes out too. The Stream 13 with an Atom Z7 and Windows 10 would be a decent upgrade.Wardrop - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link
I love the look of that laptop. I think it's the most aesthetically pleasing laptop I've seen... after Apple of course.ThortonBe - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link
I agree. That is a sharp looking laptop. I'm glad they paired the copper with grey as opposed to black.nathanddrews - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link
Very appealing - reminds me of the ongoing steampunk trend. Glue - no, rivet a couple gears onto the back of it... hahasteven75 - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link
Agreed. It's nice to see that even (gasp) business laptops can look just as appealing as consumer laptops.WorldWithoutMadness - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link

Nice to see a well specced small tablet, but it's a pity that size and weight are on the high size.Jon Tseng - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link
Seems a bit pointless... As if any enterprise would risk rolling out a brand new OS on day 1...nathanddrews - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link

They surely won't switch if no hardware is available.. or buy somewhere else.creed3020 - Wednesday, July 15, 2015 - link

Dell XPS 13 kinda plays in that space by virtue of the small bezels, I'd love more sub 13" but over 10" options as well tho.ajeet4u1989 - Saturday, June 30, 2018 - link
