I'm glad to see this is finally coming. Though of course HTC could have positioned/priced this better than their competition. The Moto G is $20 more (LTE model is the one that competes with this) but with better screen resolution and a better (recent) track record of updates to even mid-to-low range devices. Though the camera on this device is a smidge better than the Moto G, or so I read. But big picture is, people looking for inexpensive phones will have more options that can match their individual style or needs. Perhaps some people prefer HTC's skin.
Yup. That's exactly what I said in my post there :-) (I mention screen res and updates as why the extra $20 is worth it). But I didn't mention microSD because this Desire has it too.
But I ended with an acknowledgement that some people buy devices based off the look of a device or wanting a skin they have experience with or because they are loyal to a particular brand. For them, this is a decent second option in this price range.
They must have, there is no way they are Krait 400s... I wish they went back to last years chips, dual Krait 200s were better than this quad A7 crap...
If you read the whole article, the author acknowledges that:
"Something to note is that AT&T's press release states that their Desire 610 has an 854x480 display at 199ppi, while the Desire 610 that has shipped in other parts of the world has a 960x540 display for a pixel density of 234ppi. It is unclear if AT&T's model of the Desire 610 is a special variant or if this is simply an error in the specifications AT&T has listed."
