This is a very cheesy campaign, but at least it's different from the usual Dual Extreme Shadow Killer Military Grade GPU Power ads.

And any marketing campaign has to be measured by its success in terms of increasing mindshare, and in this sense, the campaign has been successful.

ten years ago I thought this monster/military style ads will be gone soon

You forgot to add "Turbo V8 Supercharged" to that list ;)

But yeah, I like this marketing campaign too!

Hey, those chips aren't cheesy; they're regular Pringles... or so says Agent Smith...
  • nathanddrews - Thursday, March 20, 2014 - link

All that and a bag... er, two cans of potato chips.

I think you missed a hint: two cans of chips + a bottle of water? How about a water cooled dual Hawaii card?
  • PEJUman - Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - link

not regular water cooled mind you, this is "Hawaiian Volcanic Water"!!!!!
they should've have used Pringles Xtra Spicy Chilli Sauce instead of the regular flavored chips though...
  • piiman - Saturday, March 22, 2014 - link

Pringles has a "Xtra Spicy Chilli Sauce " chip?!
    I'm off to the store!
  • fauxpar - Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - link

Perhaps this will cooled with a dual Asetek-style cooler similar to the Asus Ares II
  • r3loaded - Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - link

Nice catch! It's quite plausible too as a single Hawaii chip gets quite hot (especially with the stock cooler), so a water-cooled dual Hawaii card would be feasible.
  • rpsgc - Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - link

I immediately thought of watercooling too upon seeing the water bottle.

    Ecclesaistes 9:12 says:

    Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

    #3betterthan2 ?

    I wish...
  • crazylocha - Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - link

In noticing the lids of the chips..
"Bursting with flavor" = how severe of an overclock on "volcanic water cooling"???
    "A cord of three.."= 3gb PER chip??

Ok, this is getting fun! Just hoping this doesn't lead up to an April fools gotcha!
At least AMD is getting us all talking about it.

The miners will be happy. Anyone wanting a deal will have to wait.

    "Agent Smith"

I understand it's just because the editor is Ryan Smith, but I can't help but think of The Matrix. Especially with the photo of two Ryans sent earlier.

    Me me me.
  • Ryan Smith - Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - link

    Me too.
  • marc1000 - Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - link

I laughed at the "me me me"! picture Ryan talking like the agent.

It might be my inner fanboi but I'm loving "The Teasers" so far. They're giving alot of hints.

All i have to say about this is to stop beating about the bush and just give me my 20nm GPU', have had enough of my crossfire HD 7850 setup.
  • KeithWalton42 - Tuesday, March 25, 2014 - link

The cans are only small so maybe it's two midrange gpu's are better than 1 high end.

GPU's are already modular and contain multiple modules so it's probably not a 'dual core' gpu as such.
Could be two gpu's on a package though.
