Probably the LG browser when you take a look at all the other images.
On another note, if Microsoft really can get SunSpider down to 1200ms on dual-core Krait, then Android OEMs really need to push the optimization levels on their browser code (or heck, the entire platform really).
You're talking about a platform that targets only a select number of variants of one SoC as opposed to Android that runs on a multitude of ARM, MIPS and now x86 SoCs. It's really an apples and oranges comparison for optimizations.
This is slightly unrelated but why do the APQ8064 and the MPQ8064 have different maximum supported resolutions despite using the exact same GPU and quad-core CPU core? According to a spreadsheet supplied by Qualcomm <a href="http://www.qualcomm.com/sites/default/files/common... >here</a>, the APQ8064 supports QXGA (2048 x 1536) but the MPQ8064 only supports FHD (1920 x 1080).
The MPQ is apparently targeted at STB's so limiting it to FHD makes sense. Also explains why it looses GPS and seems to rely on other chips for wifi and bluetooth.
Well, good luck. Anyways, the Linux kernel is still working on how to handle arm CPU hotplug. I'd expect an upstream implementation around the 3.7 to 3.8 period. To be clear, what upstream is trying to do is implement a fast hotplug mechanism (unlike the current hotplug governor that has been used as a stand-in) with logic for when to enable/disable cores along with state information migration.
13 megapixel back facing camera is great; but why only 1.2 megapixel front facing? Does the TDP or pricing or width change with putting in a 2 megapixel front facing camera?
"LG Innotek had a nice breakdown of the 13 MP camera module from the LG Optimus G, which includes a 5P (5 plastic element) optical system and 1.1µm pixels and an F/2.4 optical system. Both the 8 and 13 MP versions of the Optimus G include 1.1µm pixels, which is how they get the module thin enough to be flush with the backside on the 8 MP version and only stick out a half millimeter or so on the 13 MP version."
Could you hyperlink to the LG Innotek brake-down? Like you I find camera and visual processing technology very interesting.
How does the MDM9615 perform TDP wise? Performance wise? Korea is a great test case since it has the fastest 4G LTE in the world.
Nice short video showing off the phone. It would be nice to also see the "Q-slide feature which allows users to overlay two applications at the same time."
""Eco Mode" which I'm told changes the governor and also hot plugs two of the four cores on APQ8064, so instead of using 4 Kraits, it can use 2 to save battery. LG says that on average (given the same daily use) they see about 10 percent more battery life with eco mode enabled. Max CPU clocks are at 1.5 GHz still with Eco Mode enabled."
Only 10% improvement? If I were designing an "eco mode" I would shut down 3 cores and limit the speed of the 1 core to 1.2 Gigahertz or something (unless it messed with area under the curve in a way that increased energy consumption).
Thanks very much for the info. Wish I were in Korea too!

Seems pretty high for the APQ8064. Is that on LG browser or Chrome?dagamer34 - Monday, September 17, 2012 - link
