In for this giveaway, I could really use a SSD. How close is this in read/write speeds to the intel 80gig G1? That's what I have in a new-ish laptop I purchased.
I have yet to install an SSD in any of my machines or the numerous machines I have built. I do have a rocket scientist buddy asking me about building him a new machine and he is thinking of using an SSD when the time comes. This would be a good test for my experience for the future.
I currently use an old JMicron 64GB SSD (G.Skill) and it has served me well for over a year! I would love to get an even better one.
Out of curiosity, the rules don't mention privacy of information. Will our personal information be distributed to any 3rd parties or is it strictly kept private between AT and contenders?
I have an Intel 80GB Gen2 SSD in my desktop, and wow, it's a totally different machine now. I've wanted to upgrade the drive in our HTPC/L4D2 gaming rig (odd combination, I know), but haven't had an excuse to spend $$$ on it. Won't have to if I win this one! :-)
Perfect size for a boot drive in my new system build for my son's college computer (he's just graduated from HS and will be attending the UW in the fall).

Does anyone know if SSD improves framerates for sure cause I would imagine if your other parts gets the data to churn through more quickly it can go through it
I think i've visiting anandtech at least once a day in the past 5 or 6 years...In fact, my reward for this loyalty is to read all the articles, that i really appreciate, specially anand's and ryan's... buuuuuttttttttttt..... it would be nice to participate the giveaways too!! Sounds great, I've been waiting on getting an SSD until I see what Intel and competitors come out with in Q4, but this would be a great way to rejuvinate my 3-yr old notebook!

I could totally use this one in my old 2.16GHz C2D MacBook. I'm replacing the stock 120GB HDD with a 500GB right now, and the optical drive has basically died, so I could totally imagine running the OS and apps off of the SSD and moving the HDD to the secondary bay for storage.
Once more readers outside the US are being let down. It's always the case somehow with all major sites. What is it that prevents you from shipping an SSD abroad? The postage stamp?

Even if taxes were involved it couldn't be a staggering amount.
My older HDD's (main is 80gb, D: is 320) are reallllyyyyy slow. The 80GB gets 40mb/s (ewwww) and the 320 gets 60mb/s. This is really a pain in the ass when compiling 4gb+ files (takes forever). An SSD would make my life awesome :D!
I've been considering an SSD for awhile esp. with Corsairs limited-time-pricing of $70 for 32 GB but just have been leery about that size. In addition my latest build is on a real budget so my money towards one hasn't been a real priority.
A Patriot 64 GB feels much more suitable though, and you have that extra space buffer to feel good about. Would be a great item to have!
I'm trying to afford a way to build a replacement for a failing computer that is 8 years old and running a lot of my primary home-tasks (recording TV, serving files, etc) and that would ROCK as an OS drive for me.
You've been very helpful through the years! When I was not-so-well off in high school and saving money to put myself through college, you taught me to build my own computer which lasted through college and graduate school; now that I've finished medical school and internship (now starting residency...then fellowship), I look back with gratitude at the information you freely gave. the VelociRaptor just doesn't cut it anymore, and what with the economy, can't afford (or justify) an upgrade. So 1 SSD for me please!

That would be a great upgrade for my notebook. I hardly use any HDD space, but man does it have a slooow HDD. I guess I'll have to eventually break down and get one, well that is unless I replace the whole laptop first. :P
I just got my first SSD this week! A 120GB OCZ Vertex 2, for my high end workstation and gaming rig. Now my other PC are felling very Jealous, including the PC I'm writing this on. This SSD would defiantly share the SSD love in my house. My notebook could use a SSD the most but it is getting too old for the investment.

I upgraded to a GTX 480, Core i7 860, EVGA P55 LE and 4gb of Corsair DDR3-1600 just last week. Basically everything that affects performance except a hard drive. I would be honored and so grateful to win such a prize

Great job with the articles. The first thing I do when I start the PC, I open Mozilla and see if you have posted a new review. You are doing a great job. The worst part is that my PC is very old (like 6-7 years) and an upgrade would be necessary, and the good part is that he's still holding on :).

I could totally use this one in my old 2.16GHz C2D MacBook. I've been considering an SSD for awhile esp. with Corsairs limited-time-pricing of $70 for 32 GB but just have been leery about that size. In addition my latest build is on a real budget so my money towards one hasn't been a real priority.A Patriot 64 GB feels much more suitable though, and you have that extra space buffer to feel good about. Would be a great item to have!

I just got my first SSD this week! A 120GB OCZ Vertex 2, for my high end workstation and gaming rig.Now my other PC are felling very Jealous, including the PC I'm writing this on. This SSD would defiantly share the SSD love in my house.

Great job with the articles. The first thing I do when I start the PC, I open Mozilla and see if you have posted a new review. You are doing a great job.The worst part is that my PC is very old (like 6-7 years) and an upgrade would be necessary, and the good part is that he's still holding on :).
