As anyone who's got a Steam account will tell you, game selections are generally not great. Steam really seems to have followed Google's Play Store thing in terms of new titles. Diablo 4 looks like yet another title that attempts to ride on the shoulders of previous iterations' successes by copy-pasting more of the same. Its no wonder gaming hardware is sitting on shelves gathering dust.
I don't know about copy and pasting. A friend of mine has been in the closed-beta since last year and says the game continues to run like shit on modern hardware (a requirement to be in the beta was an RTX 40, and she has a 4080.) The consensus among testers is it essentially requires DLSS3 - and perhaps why AMD wasn't even considered for this promotion.
So unless they come up with some pretty amazing tweaks in the next month, this game will barely run on 30-series cards, another reason it's not bundled with them. The real elephant in the room is the predatory climate surrounding Blizzard. It's surprising nVidia partnered with them while that is on public display.
i had NO issues with performance when i was playing the beta a month ???? or so ago, on a 5900x, 3060 strix and 96 gigs of ram, max settings @ 1440p so i dont know what to tell you about your post * shrug *
found the game to be quite playable, and looking forward to the release
I haven't been in the closed beta, but I did play for many hours during the open beta six weeks ago and I had no problems (fairly consistent 60 fps) with my 1080 Ti and 7700k at 3840x1600 at Ultra settings.
yeah, the main complaint I recall from open beta was server stability. Play solo and it was fine, but as soon as you tried to play with friends, disconnect after disconnect.
It is worth noting that California Department of Fair Employment & Housing Lawsuit Against Activision Blizzard appears to continue to grind onward with Blizzard continuing to fight to avoid the consequences of a culture of sexual abuse toward employees in more vulnerable positions.

Considering how memory hungry the game is, surprised AMD didn't pick up Diablo 4 for promotional reasons.PeachNCream - Tuesday, May 9, 2023 - link

That isn't worth noting at all as it has zero to do with this. Like zero fucks are given to things outside of games. lolwanderer66 - Tuesday, May 16, 2023 - link
But it's NOT worth wandering into a backwater comment section with something everyone knows about and is only tangentially related by a name.AnnonymousCoward - Monday, May 29, 2023 - link
It's equally worth noting Jay Wilson doubled it.
