I wonder if this could be configured with 10Gbe SFP+ cage. If so this could be a killer pfSense router.

That was exactly my thought. It does have a PCIe 3.0 8x Slot so you could theoretically add in a 2-port Intel basted 10GbE card.

With PCIe x8 you should be able to add a quad port Intel x710. Just a shame it doesn't come with that standard.

I'd like to see a 10Gb ports as well. These would make nice intrusion detection systems, but the GbE ports aren't fast enough.
