I quickly looked at desktop system reviews in menu above and was able to see an announcement prior to launch of Area 51 back in 2012... So this certainly isn't NEW territory.
Also, I don't really see this as an advertisement as much as industry news.
Lastly, how are premade desktop reviews different from laptops? I think knowing noise levels and performance for the dollar is good information to have before I build/buy my next system.
Dear God please no. While I do not agree with his comment, he just showed his dislike for a certain article albeit in a disrespectful way. Asking to delete his comment because he thinks differently then you seems unfair.
It wasn't that I don't agree with him (although if I did I'm sure I'd wouldn't have suggested deletion, due to that bias) it's that he implied that Anandtech is getting some kind of kickback from this article by calling it an ad. It directly accuses them of having a conflict of interest in a super rude way. Not something I'd allow if I were a mod anyway.
Just to be clear, this isn't an ad. If it were, it would be very clearly labeled as such. In fact the FCC mandates it, which is why the ad boxes are labeled as they are.
Anyhow, we thought it was interesting that Corsair is getting into the all-in-one PC business. Business is booming in the PC industry, and companies are going to be branching out in hopes of capturing chunks of the expanding market.
I thought it was interesting. With more competition, one of these may eventually drop into the price range where I'm willing to buy instead of build my own. Unlikely, since I'm more of a diy PC person but I still like to read about new prebuilt systems. I just like gadgets.
Even if I hadn't just built a new system a few months ago, I'd likely pass on this. I've had two Corsair power supplies go bad in the past year, and I built a friend a system using a Carbide case that arrived with scratches in the paint, some sharp edges inside, and the wrong top panel (was supposed to be a solid top, instead it had fan grilles which he specifically did NOT want).
If I ever buy a prebuilt desktop it's going to be a mini-PC like a Brix or NUC. Otherwise it's just cheaper to build my own to whatever specs I desire.
Yup, I agree with you. The case design is still clearly targeted at gamers, but it's a big step up in tastefulness from absurd stuff like MSI's mecha-anime-robot-heads. The ventilation, something pretty useful for a small system, looks like its integrated well into the overall design theme. Kudos to Corsair for putting some effort and thought into the ONE.
I appreciate this article. I've been toying with idea of getting a gaming PC (including VR) but all the pre-built stuff are all designed as if they're targeted towards 10 year olds. Also, I've been long past my build my own PC phase.
This seems to have a more minimal look. Hopefully, that blue light can be turned off. Looking forward to what's actually going to be released.

You're right, this is no different from a laptop writeup. The answer is clear: delete the laptop articles, they are shameless ads!ImSpartacus - Thursday, February 9, 2017 - link
It's obvious. The laptops, they gotta go. Terrible laptops. Really, a shameful display. Our component reviews, way better. Much higher quality. We've got the best component reviews. Great stuff.

Don't listen to this tool. ^I for ONE appreciate hearing about PC hardware companies entering new product areas.

Lol it kind of looks like you're pointing at SimCaudata. I get what you mean though.A mod should probably just delete this comment thread. I think a vast majority of people would agree that this article is valid.

it's a pipeline story. Don't read pipeline articles if you only want traditional AT content.anon98798798 - Sunday, April 9, 2017 - link

So Corsair has got in now. Anyone want to guess when will Razer release their own PC with RGB bling-bling?TheinsanegamerN - Wednesday, February 8, 2017 - link
They already offer cases, so they are halfway therehttp://www.razerzone.com/designedbyrazer
