Latest news guys latest news is that since App Lee has refused to cooperate with FBI and unlock terrorists phones NSA has declared the highest security alert now for this country and this company has been declared a terrorist companie since it posses such threat to national security that could basically destroy America. Therefore all App Lee bank accounts got frozen and this morning bassicaly the Coupertino based headquarters got sorounded by FBI and police and everyone that worked for this terrorist companie got arrested and jailed as terrorists.
FCC also comisioned that all App Lee devices to be banned from sales and no future imports could be made in America for such devices. Also if you're using one of these devices you could be arrested on street with no warrant because bassically you support terrorism.
FBI also found that since these devices were used by highly grade terrorists murderers assasins pedofiles and all kind of offenders the OS was in fact just a psychologic virus that infected its users minds turning them into zombies, that's how it could be explained why they were waiting in lines weeks before these devices got on sales like zombies do. Therefore if you use one of such devices you could be already a zombies without knowing it.

Let me tell you the story of a Logo companie:
Logo companie was founded on 1 April just to fool the fools, others wanted to be part of their succes but at the end of the day the Logo companie always eat the whole cake while their partners got poor and bankrupt because that was the plan even from the begining, to conquer the world and to bankrupt the competition even those that supply you with basic components for your devices, that's the CANCER of the industrie that we face now guys. The founder of the Logo companie returned just when the CANCER inside him got stronger and wanted more, that way the CANCER mentality was installed inside the whole companie. The founder was found dead by CANCER but the CANCER driven Logo companie still wants to eat the whole world, God save us all.

"Phil Schiller talks about their new iPad Pro"

I sure hope he's not schilling this product during this event...
  • damianrobertjones - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

The price of the new iPad pro should be the same as the iPad Air 2. All we have is updated 'features' for the extra money and, frankly, we're being fleeced.

"Hey, let's add x and y then jack the price up instead of releasing a tame Air 3!"

    Cha-ching.
  • extide - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

No, it is quite a bit of new hardware that is probably more expensive, so at least some of the higher price is somewhat justified.
  • Meteor2 - Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - link

I doubt there's a cost increase. This is just the progress you'd expect after two years. No reason for cost to increase.
  • Glaurung - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

The 10" pro has pencil support. A display with pen support vs one without probably explains the cost difference all by itself.
  • Dennis Travis - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

Besides what everyone else replied how about the MUCH faster CPU, 4 Speaker Audio that is much better sounding?
  • WinterCharm - Wednesday, March 30, 2016 - link

iPad pro has awesome speakers. Go into an apple store and listen for yourself. They are close to audiophile level speakers in terms of detail, clarity, and bass.
  • Wolfpup - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

Not a bad event! Cool that they're already 93% renewable energy. I'd have guessed it would be like "we hope to be 15% by 2035" type of deal lol.

I actually found the pricing to be one of the more interesting aspects. They basically just, FINALLY created a...not low end, but mid range priced iPhone. It's $250 less, and has the same hardware...save for the screen size. They managed to cut prices while saving face about cutting prices.

IMO they should have done this years ago...I mean I'd really like a $200 model, but hey, $400 is actually cheaper than the two model old phones have been going for, only for a brand new one.

So I think it's a double win-for people who want a smaller screen, and for getting a slightly-closer-to-entry-level iPhone out there!

iPad's kind of interesting to me for the same reason-they basically raised the price $100, and eliminated the 16GB model. Obviously it looks like good hardware too...I mean the Air 2 even a year and a half later is still more competitive than any Android device available, so upgrading it further only improves that.

Price is about right, iphone 7 will comeout this year
  • Amandtec - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

Kind of makes you wonder why you must pay so much more for the larger one...
  • Gunbuster - Tuesday, March 22, 2016 - link

For profit of course. You can get a Lumia 640 for $30. Yeah it must be all that R&D that gets us up to $700 handsets... Apple must be seeing some market erosion to even give up that $200
  • SaolDan - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

2 targets, Windows users and people that just want a 9.7" iPad

    lol
  • harrynsally - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

Well let's see...since Microsoft has a 93% global share of the PC O/S market...is it really any surprise that most users of ANY new non PC computing device are "coming from Windows?

Let's face it...the iPad Pro has been a bust so far and iPhone growth is flat globally.

The Apple party is over...it is a one trick pony and everyone who wanted that pony already has one.

Time for something (really) new that people actually want.

Clearly the Apple Watch is not going to the next big thing.
  • easp - Tuesday, March 22, 2016 - link

Apple is a one trick pony? Nope: Apple ][, Macintosh, iPod, iPhone. That is at least 4 tricks.

As for when the next one comes, who knows, maybe never.

Here is the thing, that isn't necessarily a bad thing for Apple, or for consumers.

Take the Mac. It is thirty two years old! It earns Apple the fattest margins in the PC industry, which is good for Apple and its shareholders. People pay the premium not because they are stupid, but because they value the product. They value the product because Apple has kept improving and refining it year after year for over three decades (well, they kind of stalled out for a good chunk of the 90s).

But, lets face it, innovation in Apple trolling is absolutely stagnant. Each new Apple announcement is met with the same stale trolling comments we've been seeing for the last 5+ years with the product names substituted.. Apple trolls could easily be replaced by bots, if they haven't been already.
  • theduckofdeath - Tuesday, March 22, 2016 - link

Now you're making numbers up. Before the iPod, Apple was not making good money. You know, back in the days when they had to rely on computer sales. In fact, they technically even went bankrupt once because they were throwing money away trying to sell the Mac in a PC world.

I don't think we'll see them before summer or 3rd qtr. What's the frigging hold up? It's not a major change.
  • jaggedcow - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

Intel's availability of Skylake laptop SKUs is likely the holdup. At least in the quantity Apple needs
  • mamunoz - Monday, March 21, 2016 - link

5K iMac is Skylake. I would like to see some TB3 support though from machines soon though.

"Environment is first on the agenda, Apple is attempting to become powered solely by renewable energy."

Luckily for Apple, both Chinese slave labor and FBI employees can both be considered renewable resources.

So the presentation starts with a speed test then some black screen and some white screen then the greatest news is that they shiped over 1 Billion useless devices that now need to be recycled and they even developed a cow as a recycling machine as seen in the PowerPoint presentation. Man these PowerPoint presentations are indeed powerfull and hard to watch. Next they even develop a new app that tell their customers just how mentaly ill they are for buying such useless devices that now have to be recycled by cows forget sheeps, you're now a cow. Next they got the nr. 1 best selling baby watch with baby bands for 1 to 80 years old babies. Next they release the SE phone version where SE comes from obSoletE. Over 30 million obSoletE devices sold in 2015. The next PowerPoint screen shows a woman taking breakfast at McDonald's eating 1 McDonald. Next screen shows some car playing music that's what cars are good for I guess. Next screen shows they even copied Surface adding a keyboard. More USB adapters that don 't match with old ones. The blogger even tells us that the Samsung like pencil is actually amazing, see how amazing Samsung tablets are even from the begining with their pencils ? Next more screens with old devices at new prices. And the presentation is over go home now. The whole presentation had took place at a restaurant bar with people barelly fitting together they were so so cheap this time around too.

If you already hand-wrote this manifesto on a soiled hamburger wrapper and mailed it to the Pope from a cabin in the Oregon woods, I wouldn't be too surprised...
  • easp - Tuesday, March 22, 2016 - link

Wow! Not five minutes after I complained Apple trolling has lacked innovation for 5+ years, I see this comment!

It's not exactly original: grousing about the watch, peripheral connectivity, the mental capacity of Apple users, copying Samsung and Microsoft. Evidence of delusional psychosis by the author, puzzling punctuation, capitolization and line breaks.

These are all common themes in Apple-trolling, but there is something about the way they all come together here that makes them seem fresh. I can't wait to see where this leads!

Mr. Cook, why does this "loop" look suspiciously like a noose?
  • leo321 - Wednesday, July 25, 2018 - link

A good event it was. Hoping for updates and news on data recovery issues that are now very common on Apple devices. I have been using Apple products for a long time, no complaints on the performance. But after the warranty runs out it is very costly to repair the hardware failures. Though I have done troubleshooting from https://www.f2help.com/ still more official updates are needed.
